The Directors

Tommy Murphy, former callout and repair engineer at Express Lifts, at O&K Escalators previous to that, and originally coming from a background being a time served mechanical engineer, working on a diverse range of machinery from Timber Mills to Nailguns. Educated to HNC Level in Mechanical Engineering, and also NVQ4 qualified in testing and commissioning lifts.

Steve Fitzgerald, previously team leader at Express Evans, and former Express Lifts apprentice, being in one of the batches of apprentice's that were sent to Northampton for the first year of their training to work in all sections of the now closed Northampton factory. Educated to HNC level in electrical engineering and NVQ4 Level in testing and commissioning Lifts.


Dave Tracy, Employed in the light steel construction and machine guard industry for 4 years and then re-trained in electronic test and servicing to a HNC level. Spent 8 years as an installation service & repair engineer on all types of passenger, platform & stair lifts. Progressed to a commissioning/test engineer then for 15 years worked self employed as a passenger lift installation engineer before becoming a project manager with Knowsley Lift Services.

Jay Maloney. joined the company in 2002 as an Improver. Since then he has held the positions of fitter, senior fitter, supervisor, tester (NVQ4) and now service repair  manager.Home grown and trained “The Knowsley Way” Jays duties include planning the repair and servicing aspects of the company and providing quick assertive action plans to the ever changing reactive side of our clients.

Business Development

Jim Bullen has overseen business development activities since 2015. Jim was Managing Director of a multi discipline engineering operation before heading up the UK Steel Plate and Profiling Sales Division of the steel giant Arcelor Mittal ,then spent 6 years setting up from scratch the UK operation for one of Europes largest online sports retailers.

Our Apprenticeship Programme

We have always tried to put something back into the local economy. Out Lift Engineer Apprenticeship programme has been running now since 2001 and we are happy to say 16 people have passed through this training process to ensure the lift engineering services and solutions we can offer to our clients are carried out by some of the best trained, most committed and caring professionals in the industry.
