Thorngrove – YHG - Manchester

The Challenge

This was a full turnkey project for Your Housing Group and we undertook the full responsibilities as Principal Contractor as relevant under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. The project was to be undertaken whilst the building was still fully occupied with tenants

The Solution

Key to the whole project was good communication with YHG, residents and building users to identify what we were doing and when, in order that the disturbances that could not be avoided. The opening up of entrances to have both lifts serving each landing enabled the control panels to be configured to a Duplex system to enhance and maximise people flow.

The Afters

·      Having two lifts rather than one serving each landing and increased speeds of same allowed a far greater call handling capacity than originally with waiting times reduced considerably. Reliability is secured for the next 20-25yrs with equipment installed.
