Victoria Building - University Of Liverpool

Knowsley Lifts have been the incumbent maintenance provider for the University of Liverpool now since 2009, and previous to winning the contract via competitive tender looked after the lifts on a caretaker basis in the changeover period from them employing their own engineers.

The Aim

As well as day to day maintenance issues, we have also been involved in a rolling program of lift refurbishments and new installations throughout the campus. To date we have carried out 20+ major projects working both directly for the University, and also for main contractors on new-build projects

The Solution

We are glad to say being named as a university preferred supplier has give us the opportunity to demonstrate to a couple of major building company’s the advantages of dealing with ourselves rather than some of the multi-nationals they had previously used, where we could supply high quality equipment competitively .... and also give them the advantage of dealing with a team of engineers directly from inception of project to completion, to ensure any potential issues are remedied at planning stage. Consequently we keep receiving enquiry’s from both Keir Construction and Shepherd Construction, who we provided lifts for in The Victoria Building, and Apex Project (Ronald Ross Lab’s) respectively.

The Outcome

We are currently in the process of carrying out 3 major projects, and continue to keep staff and students alike, moving in buildings across campus without complaint.
