Shakespeare North

Knowsley Lift Services are delighted to be awarded the contract for the supply and installation of the lifts in the Shakespeare North Theatre by Kier Construction.
As part of the project, Kier are working with the local supply chain to strengthen the local economy.
Kier has been involved in the project since January 2018 when it was appointed to support the design process and deliver the initial enabling works.
The £26m Shakespeare North, is the first of its kind in Knowsley and the Liverpool City Region and will sit in the heart of Prescot town centre. When complete, it will house a 350-seat theatre, performance studio, exhibition and education centre, coffee shop and office space.

Once complete, the Shakespeare North Playhouse will create over 200 permanent roles while bringing £5.3m Gross Value Added to the Liverpool City Region and attracting over 100,000 visitors every year.
The Shakespeare North Playhouse will have the power to attract visitors from across the globe and present remarkable cultural programmes to new audiences and generations. It will also be a major driver for regeneration as well as broadening horizons and opportunities for local communities.
This is not the first Theatre project for Knowsley Lift Services. Previously they were engaged by Gilbert Ash, to provide elevators on the Everyman Theatre rebuild. The completed Everyman won the prestigious 2014 RIBA Stirling Prize, beating off such famous landmarks as the Shard in London and the stunning final finish of the provided lifts gained plaudits for the sensory experience provided for the lift passengers
